Principle of Design

The principle of design describes the ways that the artists use the elements of art in work of art. You will understand the movement and motions in the designs so when you see a design you can know the good one from others.

1-      Ratio and Grids :
Ratio: There are a lot of artists use ratio in their design because it's give the ability and sense of balance and harmony in design, it's about the relationship of visual forms to each other and the person who sees it interact with his sense not with his thought, it's known and use before the invention of photography and the highest circulation is the golden ratio.
Golden Ratio: is used to describe the aesthetic pieces inside the artwork which is equivalent to 1,618 a simple ratio can help you make your design appropriate and Harmonic to the eye

Grids: it is a technology design, where it's not necessary in every design, but when it's implemented correctly in your design it can transform the company's vision of the brand down to the highest; they contain the horizontal and vertical lines to arrange the content where it helps the design to be easier and clearer to the public.
2-      Unity :
The feeling of harmony between all parts of the work of art, which creates a sense of completeness, If all elements connected correctly we have achieved the unity, but if you don't put all these elements without linking them to each other you won't produce a well-designed, the unit supports all the elements (point, line, size, shape, color, texture, movement, space, perspective)

3-      Simplicity and closed :
The things which are clear, organized and aren't an element of surprise are easy to activate. When things close to each other and make simple shapes our eyes prefer to complete the missing things to fill the vacuum through it.

4-      Balance and order:
Human nature loves transforming chaos in to order, the balance is distribution of the design elements in the page layout view. These elements should be balanced to make the design feel stable. Although some designers prefer unbalanced designs because they are full of movement and offers a completely different point of view and expresses regular contact forms to each other.

5-    Convergence :
Several elements can come together and be a unit, but at the same time you may find a difference between the sizes of the elements, where stationed at a certain point and become attractive, another way to see shapes in another way such as a map of the country or circles within the framework.

6-    Movement :
it is the path that viewer's eyes takes  through the work of art, often a focal point, our nature as human beings we like to  follow the line to the end, a river line or the road. Whatever the things closed to each other or far our eyes see it animated or variable with each others.

7-    Figure and ground :
Which means the relationship between the shape in the image and the negative space around it, the idea is that the eye will separate the figure from the background so you can understand it. The relationship between the shape and design are either parallel or non-parallel as it's easy to understand the format and the earth, such as the white box in black rectangle.

8-    Focus point and contrast :
It's draws our attention to the contrast of different parts in the design .for example the presence of circles inside the square with different color that will attract our attention toward it, we used to alert toward something unknown or suspicious to avoid the danger quickly, there must be a connection between things until we find the difference in focus point.

9-      Style and Rhythm :
Is the frequency which we easily found it in our designs or in the world around us and is expected to repeated, the pattern can repeat in a certain way to convey the idea and the feeling of organized movement. It's create a mood like music or dancing to keep rhythm exciting and active ,variety is essential

The principles of design is very important to every designer to know it, to help him to implement it to their designs ideas and makes it special.
